Thank you all for attending the March meeting. I wanted to follow up on a couple of items from the meeting.
There was a question as to the April Elections. Once again, I had received no official info from the FL GOP (probably since the elections do not fall into our district. Not a good excuse in my opinion, but…) so, here is a pretty good breakdown of that situation. I am taking it from Stack Exchange
Could Democrats take back the House of Representatives on April 1 2025 with upcoming special elections?
“Elise Stefanik has been nominated by Trump as the US ambassador to the UN, and will have to resign her seat when confirmed. So that’s your third vacancy, and it reduces the Republicans to 217. The video doesn’t say that the Democrats will win the House if they win two of them, it says that they have to win all three. It also correctly observes that if the Democrats win the first two, on 1 April 2025, then the House will be tied until the election for Stefanik’s seat is held at a later date. It’s just the title that’s a bit wrong, the Democrats can’t take back the House in 60 days, they can only deny control of it to the Republicans.”
“Only deny control” that is something that we don;t need to see happen.
Also, in regard to upcoming education options through the Leadership Institute, please click the link below and browse the Institute’s site. I am linking you to the free education section. A number of these programs can be gone through in your free time, or use them like audio book as they do not all have quizes or Pass/Fail. It will give you exposure to a system that has and does work. It may not be flashy, but elections are war and some times “meat and potatos” tactics are best.
