Hello East Broward Members,

I am hopeful that by the time you receive this email, the government shutdown will be over and
that the socialists will have been dealt a fatal blow in their insurgency against the rule of law in

the United States. If not, we may be facing cuts in food assistance for both the elderly and low-
income working families.

To that end, we are compiling a database of food pantries, food-distribution programs, and
discounted meal services that you can share with anyone who may find themselves in need of
access to a nutritious meal. We should all remember that while junk food may keep a person
alive, it does not sustain good health. Nutritious, whole foods are not always readily available in
the communities where they are most needed. Unfortunately, as we age, we also tend not to eat
what is best for us.
During COVID, I volunteered with several local food banks and saw firsthand the serious impact
that limited access to nutritious food had on both the elderly and the young.
If you know of any additional resources, please submit them through our website at
www.eastbrowardrepublicanclub.com. The same applies to any money-saving grocery apps
you recommend. Your contributions will be greatly appreciated.
