The East Broward Republican Club is pleased to announce our September meeting, featuring an exciting guest speaker, George Moraitis, a prominent figure in Florida’s Republican circles and a candidate for Florida’s 23rd Congressional District in the 2026 election. Held on the third Wednesday of the month, September 10, 2025, at 6:30 PM, this meeting promises to be an engaging evening of insights, discussion, and community for local Republicans and supporters. Here’s a preview of what to expect and why you won’t want to miss this event.Who is George Moraitis?George Moraitis is no stranger to public service or the Fort Lauderdale community. A lifelong resident of the area, Moraitis has built an impressive career rooted in leadership, service, and conservative values. A graduate of Fort Lauderdale High School, the United States Naval Academy, and the University of Florida College of Law, Moraitis brings a wealth of experience from his time as a U.S. Navy submarine officer, where he earned multiple commendations, including the Navy Commendation Medal and NATO Medal.
From 2010 to 2018, Moraitis served as a State Representative for District 93, covering parts of northeast Broward County and southeast Palm Beach County. During his tenure, he was known for his bipartisan approach, serving as Vice Chair of the House Appropriations Committee and advocating for economic growth, strong national defense, and community-focused policies like state aid for Port Everglades. After his time in the legislature, he took on the role of Chairman of the Broward Republican Party from 2017 to 2020, working to unite the party and boost its presence in a historically Democratic county.
Now, Moraitis is running for Congress, challenging Democratic incumbent U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz in what’s shaping up to be one of Florida’s most competitive congressional races. His campaign focuses on restoring the American Dream, securing borders, supporting the military, and promoting fiscal responsibility—values that resonate deeply with the East Broward Republican Club’s mission.

The meeting will also feature a Q&A session, offering attendees a chance to engage directly with Moraitis on key issues facing Broward County, Florida, and the nation. Moraitis’s extensive experience in the Navy, state legislature, and local GOP leadership makes him a compelling speaker who can offer insights into both local and national challenges. Plus, with Florida’s 23rd Congressional District being a key battleground, this is your chance to get ahead of the curve on one of 2026’s most watched races. Pizza will be served at 6:30PM and the meeting begins at 7PM.
